The expedition was by no means easy, with the crew battling huge swells and strong winds, but each day they came closer to completing their goal. Journeying 346km on their last day, the team finally reached their destination on the border between South Africa and Namibia, where they were met with warm welcomes.

Stopping over in major cities along the way, the crew promoted cancer awareness and drew attention to the objectives of the C2C4C campaign. With the support of local CANSA offices and the assistance of sponsors in each locality, they were able to make educational visits to school, hospitals, clinics and special care facilities and meet up with and hear life stories of other cancer survivors.

Through regular interviews with local radio stations and regional and community newspapers and the C2C4C blog, the team were able to have their message spread to the public.
